hello! my name is greatsword, and this is my website! let me tell you about myself!
art n writing
I like to commission art, and I write sometimes for fun. I make low poly 3d models too (and I used to do pixel art but kinda dropped it lol), and I hope to get better at it! (all my art and writing is usually licensed under the CC-BY-SA 4.0 license, sharing is caring!) I mainly get art of my OC (and waifu), Yuri Lucia, and I write about her too. I'm not too picky when it comes to art styles, but I suppose I mainly like anime and manga style of art. I'm super fond of funky early to mid 2000s comic styles that clip art used at that time (see Graphxkingdom for that). I just like low-spec art(digital art that has self-imposed restrictions) in general!! :D
as for my writing, I'm a total media sponge, and I like sword and sorcery, so 100% of my lore is just Greatsword Rule of Cooltm
if you want to draw Yuri Lucia, freaking show it to me!!!
music
greathony swordtano here, here to tell you why what you listen to SUCKS and why what i listen to DOESN'T SUCK I love music, and I would probably go mad if I couldn't listen to music anymore. I'm not terribly picky, but my favourite kinds of music are electronic, (neo-)classical, orchestra, and big blockbuster movie soundtracks. I listen to a lot of game soundtracks, too. Some of my favourites are:
- the work of Farya Faraji (youtube), especially his french songs
- the work of Andrey Vinogradov (youtube), especially the [blank] Dance ones
- Dragon's Dogma's soundtrack
- some stuff from Radiant Historia (love Edge of Green)
- the work of Mega Drive (bandcamp)
- the work of Alexander Brandon (bandcamp), and generally any sort of MOD/Tracker music
- the work of Gustav Holst, especially The Planets (if you thought classical music couldn't sound modern at all, just hear Mars: The Bringer of War and you'll think different)
- Warsow's soundtrack
- lots of other stuff!!! like i said i'm not picky at all lul
tech stuff
i'm a nerd (how can you tell) who is into technology, mainly self-hosting and networking. I like using XMPP, i like running my servers, i generally just like making one computer scream at another over funny wires and radio waves. someday, i should get back into programming more, cause i wanna learn how to bridge the most random stuff to XMPP (i'm talking minecraft servers, unreal tournament scoreboards, phone battery status, whatever).
i like using Free Software (or FOSS/FLOSS) whenever i can!!! its cool to be free! please now enjoy a list of software i use :>
- Debian GNU/Linux for both servers and desktops! (yes i am a debian normie)
- Gajim for XMPP on GNU/Linux, sometimes Profanity if i'm feeling geeky
- for xmpp on other platforms: on android, I use monocles chat; i get my iphone and macos friends to use Monal IM; for stubborn web people, I (reluctantly) tell them to use ConverseJS, though you should really use those other programs if you can help it; for windas users, you can use Gajim, mentioned above
- GNU Emacs for text editing, light browsing, and the odd e-mail
- LibreWolf for browsing (and sometimes le shill lion browser for taxes n shit)
- Blockbench for my 3D models
- GNU Image Manipulation Program for editing pictures (usually adding cool sfx to 3d model renders :D)
- Grafx2 for my pixel art
- MATE as my desktop environment
